Location
Carluke is a quiet community set in a lovely rural location high above the Clyde Valley. The area has a rich heritage, stretching back as far as William Wallace and the Covenanters. Today, the town is home to a fine array of amenities, including unique local shops and a great selection of bars and restaurants. There are a number of primary schools in the town as well as Carluke High School.
Carluke itself is only a few miles from Lanark, where regular train services will whisk you to Glasgow Central in great ease. The M8 is within easy reach too, brining the whole of Scotland and beyond within your grasp. Of course, Lanarkshire is also home to some fine open countryside, with the Tinto hills in particular offering great opportunities for walking. One of Scotland’s most interesting visitor attractions, New Lanark, is not far away, offering a fascinating insight into Scotland’s industrial heritage.
